Six Month Smiles

What is Six Month Smiles?
Six Month Smiles is an orthodontics treatment program that utilizes clear braces and tooth-colored wires to straighten your smile without traditional, bulky metallic braces. This barely noticeable system has the client seeing results in less than four months, with an average treatment time of six months. As an added bonus, Six Month Smiles costs less than popular clear aligners and has quicker treatment times.
Am I a candidate for Six Month Smiles?
Generally, any adult aged 16 years or older who has crooked, gapped or misaligned teeth is a candidate for Six Month Smiles.
How does the Six Month Smile system work?
The system is well tested and can be tailored to each client's exact needs. Here is an overview of the process:
Step 1
Find a provider near you for a consultation. During the appointment, your orthodontist will work with you to create a personalized plan of action to straighten your teeth effectively and at an affordable price point. Impressions will be taken of your mouth once your provider has determined what method will work best to correct any teeth and/or bite problems.
Step 2
The big day! Clear braces with nearly invisible brackets and wiring will be fitted at the second appointment. Plus, the appointment will only take about one hour until you are on your way.
Step 3
Your teeth will begin to move within the first month, and your mouth will begin to adjust to the feeling of having braces on.
Step 4
About three to seven adjustments will be made between the start of the second month to the fifth month. The number of adjustments depends on each case, and more severe misalignments will require more adjustments. Each month, you can expect to see a change in your smile towards straighter teeth.
Step 5
Within the last month, your teeth will appear almost completely straight! The teeth will be settling into their new positions and your bite should feel more secure.
Step 6
Braces come off and you have a brand new smile! Your orthodontist will then make a custom retainer for you to wear while sleeping so your teeth stay straight. However, there are various options for retainers, including permanent retainers, clear trays and wired retainers.
Do clear braces hurt?
After the initial discomfort when your teeth are adjusting to the newly fitted appliance, braces will not hurt in the slightest. Tightening the braces for gradual alignments at each appointment may cause mild soreness, but rest assured it is only temporary. Only the most highly trained orthodontists and dentists can install Six Month Smiles, so you will be in great hands at any of our approved providers.
Does it really only take six months to see results?
Results will actually start to show in the first couple of months. The average treatment time is six months, but depending on the case, teeth straightening can take anywhere from four to nine months.
